Under Senegalese Skies

My drawing upon return - based on an artist's work. :-)

This experience was an immersion into French and Wolof,  and into Senegalese culture, as well as into the world of a start-up NGO project.

Merci ! Merci ! Merci ! Universe. Merci ! Merci ! Merci !  old and new friends in Senegal, and thank you to you who have read my posts.

Bright eyes,
Sparkling eyes,
Smiling eyes,
Under African skies.

Sukabe

Getting Ready for the new school term for the 3 Sukabe pre-schools and for the opening of GS Les Polyglots Primary School.

Everywhere there is construction.

After work:
Fun!

From my hosts' rooftop...

Waiting for buss between schools...

Porte-a-porte visits- stop off at a shoe store
We often go home after the sun has set.
The coast is never far.

Malika Sukabe

Mame Fatou is the Creator and and Administrator of the project, Sukabe, and the creator of the new primary school.

My friend Yacine is the Pedagogical Counselor for the new schools; she plays an essential role as most teachers are new to the profession and many have degrees in areas other than education.

I am thoroughly appreciative of my belle experience being a small part of the the project. You can check out their FaceBook Page here: Sukabe

Sukabe ! Sukabe ! Sukabe !
